Kyoto Counter Stool Review
This is not our favorite and the best barstool. For the best barstool, we far prefer Monte Carlo Game Room 30"H Swivel Bar Stool which is reviewed here.
Sometimes, there are some things that simply don’t cut it. This is the review of that one thing, the Kyoto Counter Stool. A 37 and half inches tall chair that does not quite get to go where it’s supposed to go – or stay in this matter. Let’s take a look at why you should be looking at other options aside from this.
First, reviewers found that the shipping, price and delivery of the product were all well and good. However, that’s unfortunately where the good things stop. Upon opening the package and looking at the contents, you’ll notice that the wood – while it may be sturdy – feels a bit rushed and rugged. It doesn’t give you a sophisticated feel at all – something that other manufacturers have excelled at even with cheap prices. The light cherry finish may be quite good, but these are too common in the market nowadays.
Next, the reviewers took a look at the assembly. It certainly was a hassle since some of the parts don’t seem to fit the unit very well. At one time, while testing its swivel function after freshly being assembled, some parts fell.
| This isn’t supposed to happen, as it may injure anyone who would be sitting and swiveling away with the Kyoto. The swivel also feels very stiff and makes you think that it could’ve been better not adding a swivel function at all. Of course, when the situation is like this, then you can be skeptical about its overall durability. Reviewers say they had to improvise here and there and even use their resources to make the chair feel right. | ![]() |
| Although there is a tool included, it barely helps as some parts aren’t compatible, as mentioned before. | |
| The chair also feels kind of small, so it wouldn’t benefit someone with a heavyset body. |
There are also no armrests, making the chair all the more unsafe and unstable to sit at. The PVC seat over the high density fire retardant foam may attract some of you, but some reviewers argue that it’s not very comfortable to sit on – which is to say, of course, the primary function of any chair around.
If you plan to have a chair or bar stool that would suit your kitchen, restaurant, bar or game room without the hassles of repairing and rending it over and over again, then go spend your money somewhere. There is just too much negativity with this chair that you might want to steer clear from it, and never set your backside on it… ever.
